One winter day in 2019 Jupiter Sulphur Mine assembled at Arch Hill Studios, Auckland New Zealand to record what would become their album Connected Disconnected. They came prepared only with the vocal narratives - the rest of the music was to unfold in improvisation as they went. The resulting five hours of material was edited down to the finished tracks here. Minimal overdubs completed the mixing process. This approach was taken as this is how the band has been playing together for the last few years - finding their voice through making music in the moment. It seemed appropriate to capture that process before the band moves on to a period of more formal song writing. We hope that you will enjoy being with the band as the song is composed, as much as the band enjoys the moment of its composition. Special thanks to John for perfuming the studio prior to our arrival and for doing such an excellent job of not only capturing the music but also the subsequent mixing/editing process.
